You'll love this chord melody of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."

This version is different than the two versions in my "A Ukulele for Christmas: Fingerstyle Solos" book - the versions in that book take more of a classical fingerstyle approach.

Here we have a chord melody  - not too hard to play - that has just the right amount of campanella sprinkled in (like sprinkles on Christmas cookies - just the right amount) so it takes advantage of rich full chords and the reentrant tuning for the campanella.

Tips

Let chords and notes ring wherever possible...

Measure 1: Use your 3rd finger to fret the first note so that you can let the open notes ring as you add notes to complete the Em chord - let the chord ring when playing the last open note in the measure.

Measure 2: Let notes ring & chords ring.

Measure 4: Hold the chord and add the note with your 3rd finger   - leave it there so you're ready for the next measure.

Measures 9 & 10: Let chords ring (might be a little tricky for the first chord).

Measure 13: Hold the chord and add your 5th finger to fret the note on the 4th string.

Have fun and share this!
