Here's we take the IZ strum to the yet another level by adding a chuck.

This can be used for many songs.

Play the Cool IZ Strum with a Chuck!

You too can strum like the famous IZ. This strum can be used with any song in 4/4 time.

Start very slow - speed up when you get it down.

WACTH:

The thumb is used to pluck the G string on the first beat, and a chuck on the 3rd beat.

It isn't necessary to strum all the strings on the up strums, 1, 2 or 3 strings would be fine.

Notice we're strumming at the 12th fret here for a richer sound.

I'm using two fingers for the strum and the chuck - this gets you a louder strum and a louder chuck, you can do with one finger as well...

This is a variation of then island strum notice if you remove the chuck you get an island strum and the first IZ strum we looked at.

Can be used for high or low G - doesn't matter... In the previous IZ video I did the strum with a low G - here we have it with high G

If you're like most uke players you use the island strum all the time so this'll come in handy.

Now go show um' you can play just like IZ!

Uke I'm using in the video is not made anymore it's a solid cedar top with Koa back and sides, concert. Something similar that would be in production now would be a cedar top with acacia back and sides concert uke the strings I'm using are worth clears (link is to low g's which are more often in stock) These strings are loud and crisp - you'll love um'
